That’s Me

A few years back, I  remember very well feeling overwhelmed and depressed. I worked a good 30 hour job, I lived in a good size apartment and my kids were not babies any more. But I still had that feeling that I can’t achieve anything, I felt stuck.

I came across Marie Kondo and her method of tidying (Konmari). I borrowed her 2 books from the library and read them both in no time. The next thing I know I  had a schedule put together to go through everything I own.

My husband had a huge amount of clothes when we got married and it stayed the same until he decided (after 11 years) to go through them all. I  member the day I dropped off his clothes at a thrift store and the guy asked if all 7 huge black trash bags were clothes!! When I answered yes he said ” What are you going to wear now?”. Those, my friends were clothes that were barely used, that we cared and worried about, that we moved with us for at least 5 times.

I LOVED IT.  I still love the rush I feel when I get rid of stuff. It’s so freeing. One less thing to care about, one less thing to fight for my attention. It’s so weird how things fill our life and time and  in order  to find yourself you need to free space, physically and mentally.

It’s a journey… enjoy it.
